  Would you let a bot read your resume? Well, whether you would or not, many employers are. In recent years the use of applicant tracking systems has become widespread, especially among large and medium sized employers. So, if you’ve applied for a job at a place like that in the past several years, your resume (and maybe your cover letter too) was likely first evaluated by a bot. In some cases, application materials submitted to potential employers can be filtered out by an applicant tracking system and never even read by a real person.
